Fascia Training - What is it?

Have you ever wondered what that is? Have you ever heard this word at an orthopedic doctor or at a physiotherapist or held one of our flyers in your hand and wondered what it is?

We have been offering fascia training in Berlin since September and in Obertshausen since November. Nina and I (Nadia) have noticed that many people do not know what fascia is and why fascia training is good.

We would now like to finally give you some answers!

What are fascia?

Fascia is tissue that runs throughout the body. It surrounds muscles, organs and bones and supports the movement and mobility of the body.

What is fascia training?

Fascia training consists of rolling individual body parts and training these body parts. In 1 hour, 4 - 5 body parts are rolled and trained. The buttocks and back are always part of our courses. We alternate with other body areas such as the front or back of the thighs, hip bend, shoulders, latissimus. Some body parts are rolled while lying down, some while standing. The exercises that we choose for strengthening come from different sports disciplines, from functional training to Pilates, but they are deliberately carried out slowly so that your body awareness is trained in every respect.

Why is fascia training useful?

This type of training is helpful in loosening fascia adhesions. This increases the body's flexibility and range of motion and possibly relieves tension. The muscles can also develop better through fascia training, as adhesions in the muscle sheaths (also fascia tissue) can be loosened.

Who should do fascia training?

If you suffer from tension or notice restrictions in your movement, then you should try fascia training. But let's be honest, not everyone likes the training because the rolling can be painful. The success rate is also not 100%. Nevertheless, 80% of our fascia training customers come back for various reasons: Adhesions were successfully resolved, flexibility was significantly improved, many enjoy the massage of the rollers during training and by training body awareness they pay more attention to their posture.

But even people who do a lot of sport can increase the performance of their muscles and the flexibility of their body with this training.

Which fascia roller is the right one?

In our opinion, there is no such thing as the ideal roll. Every person is different and has a different tissue. Some people feel a lot with a soft roll, others need a different structure and others need a harder roll. Sometimes it also depends on the body weight or which part of the body is to be rolled. There is a lot of variation, from wood to foam. In our lessons we offer the opportunity for you to bring your own roll and of course to try out ours.

Our conclusion: Simply practicing the rolling technique is not enough to loosen adhesions. It is the mixture of the rolling technique and the exercise or training.

We look forward to advising you in more detail about one of our courses in Berlin or Obertshausen !
