Series #4 Mindfulness - mindfulness

"Thank God it is Friday"... now can you take a breather for yourself? Today's topic is intended to inspire you to practice mindfulness . As a trainer and behavior coach, I know that mindfulness is a key to many areas of life. A tool that has its origins in meditation can now be found in the world of work, in business and in private life. It's basically about reflection, directing attention to yourself and your surroundings, contentment, gratitude, relaxation, enjoying or perceiving the here and now and sensitizing your consciousness.

Recommendations for implementation:

  • Actively schedule your MeTime as an appointment in your calendar

  • Check out this page for natural cosmetics for your replacement product. I have now become a Ringana partner because I am impressed by the products. I am happy to advise you if you have any questions.

  • A book recommendation to improve communication in your partnership, for your family or use the inspiration for your colleagues & employees is

Who is this tool suitable for?

For anyone who is addicted to their cell phone, who watches TV every evening as a ritual, for anyone who doesn't like their daily routine, who feels dissatisfied, who feels tired and exhausted, who works too much, who feels dull and exhausted or who simply can't control their own time anymore. There are several reasons, but I'm sure you get the idea.

How do you start?

No matter what kind of mindfulness you want to practice, you start by pausing, breathing calmly and observing the situation without judgment. Write down your observation and the feeling you feel about it. If it is positive, be grateful. If it is negative, think about what you want to change and what added value it will bring to you and your environment. Put your thoughts into practice and think about how long and how often you want to do this exercise on a particular topic.

Here are some inspirations:

Mindfulness for you:

Time Do you notice that you don't have time for yourself? Or to read a book or for your friends? Think about how you can do it, even if you start with small time slots. 10 minutes of power napping, showering, bathing, walking, reading, drinking tea in the sun...

Care We are wired by the cosmetics industry in such a way that we need creams, soaps and even make-up for every part of the body from head to toe. If, like me, you are concerned about how much chemicals you are putting on your skin or how much microplastics are getting into the sewer system through your toothpaste and cosmetics, then think about which cosmetics you want to replace first.

Mindfulness at work & with your colleagues:

Communication Mindfulness in communication can also be found in other subject areas, but communication at work is one of the most common reasons why I am booked for coaching. Do you think you share enough information with colleagues so that you all pull together? Do you speak the right language so that your colleagues or your team feel valued? What are your sentences like? Constructive or rather demotivating?

Teamwork, delegation skills, leadership skills ... are all topics where mindfulness is worthwhile in order to discuss where the problem lies and why. This awareness makes the next step to change something easier than you think.

Mindfulness with your environment:

Waste production from your household. Do you not feel comfortable producing so much waste? Do you think about the animals in nature when you throw away your plastic waste? Think about what you can do to change this.

Air pollution Do you sometimes feel unwell because you drive too many journeys by car that could actually be done on foot or by bike? How can you organize yourself differently? Perhaps an extra portion of fresh air will motivate you?

How long can you practice mindfulness?

Mindfulness exercises can be incorporated daily, weekly, monthly, or annually. However, some exercises only become a part of you if you practice them for a longer period of time. Similar to healthy eating or clean eating As explained in the previous post, I recommend that you carry out small exercises and tackle a small topic. Once that has become routine, you start with the next topic. Because sustainability requires patience, practice and time. So stick with it.

My conclusion: Mindfulness can be incorporated into all situations in life and is good for you and those around you. You become very aware of yourself, notice what you need, what you can change and also take on other perspectives in order to better understand what you can change or do yourself.
