The 5 best tips on how to maintain your weight over the Christmas season

Christmas, the festival of love - and culinary delights. The mean thing is, weeks beforehand, our environment contributes to us eating more and less healthily without us wanting to. With these tips, you can get through the Advent season well - how to maintain your weight over Christmas and still enjoy the Christmas season.

#1: Don't starve

Maintaining a normal eating routine over the holidays is not easy. But try not to eat differently than usual. Avoid getting into a yo-yo pattern of alternating feasts and fasting.

#2: Don't overload your plate

When filling your plate, make sure that it is sensibly and in the right portions. If you generally eat a balanced diet, there is no reason to fill your plate to the brim.

#3: Don't gulp

Our stomach only tells us after about 20 minutes that it is full, whatever is in it up until then is in it. This means that the greatest risk of eating more than is necessary or desired is in the first 20 minutes of eating. Tip: Orient yourself at the table as slowly as possible, put down your cutlery for a moment, have a conversation (not with your mouth full, of course).

#4: Don't punish yourself

If you follow the rules up to this point, there is nothing wrong with a small dessert, although it should obviously not be as big as the main course. After all, it's all about enjoyment - you're already full.

#5: Don't be (too) lazy

Christmas and the “dark season” don’t have to be reasons to neglect your workout routine. Try to stick with it or modify it if necessary. Regular training will not only help you fight the holiday pounds, but will also do something good for your mindset.

Happy pre-Christmas season and all the best from
